Tucked into Stonegate’s medieval thoroughfare a few steps from York Minster, The Punch Bowl has stood as a pub for over four centuries, surviving two major fires along the way. Inside, low-beamed dining rooms and a traditional front bar host a rotating range of cask ales alongside Nicholson’s signature pub menu of pies, fish and chips and Sunday roasts. The pub also has a reputation for being haunted, adding to its long-standing place in York folklore.
