Built from a stacked grid of repurposed shipping containers, Spark:York is the city’s hub for independent food, drink and culture, hosting around nine rotating kitchens and four bars on its terraces. Visitors graze across cuisines from Korean to Neapolitan pizza while drinking from local breweries, with a programme of live music, DJ sets, cinema screenings, art markets and fitness classes running across the year. It’s free to walk in, fully accessible with a lift, and operates as a community interest company supporting small York businesses.
