This picturesque street opposite the Minster is regularly seen in Channel 4 crime drama Patience, as it is where the main character, Patience Evans, lives. The interior of Patience’s attic room was actually filmed in Belgium. Please respect the privacy of the residents who live here while you’re exploring. Looking behind you, the narrow street frames a beautiful view of York Minster. First filmed around York in 2024, much of the show was also filmed in Belgium and France, as it is an international co-production. Patience stars Ella Maisy Purvis as an autistic archivist who assists the York police.
